Riot Breaks Out At Electric Daisy Carnival Experience Film Premiere

Last night a minor riot broke out in Los Angeles at the premiere of the Electric Daisy Carnival Experience movie at Grauman’s Chinese theater.

Apparently a bunch of fans couldn’t get in because 650 people were invited by the organizers for a venue that’s 300 capacity. Additional people started showing up when DJ Kaskade sent out a tweet telling people he was playing a free pre-screening set on Hollywood Boulevard. As thousands of people started filling up the street, it was announced that Kaskade’s free set was cancelled. The frustration ensued and hyped up crowd started getting rowdy as the LAPD riot police started flexing their muscle, and started firing bean bags to disperse the crowd.

Was this incredibly bad planning by the organizers or engineered to create publicity for the movie? Either way, the Electric Daisy Carnival organizers Insomniac Inc. are catching a bad rap lately especially after an underage girl overdosed at last year’s Electric Daisy Carnival festival in L.A. Luckily the end result for last night’s event was just a few arrests and nothing more. Check the video for the bird’s eye view.
