Gil Noble [February 22, 1932 – April 5, 2012] ‘Misinformation Is Indeed A Weapon Of Mass Destruction’

“Misinformation is indeed a weapon of mass destruction”. A powerful quote from journalist Gil Noble who passed away April 5, 2012. He was an American television reporter as well as the producer and host of New York City television station WABC-TV’s weekly show, ‘Like It Is’ for from 1968 to 2011.

‘Like It Is’ was Gil’s lifelong project, a public affairs television program focusing on issues relevant to the African-American community where he interviewed many great leaders, historians, educators, writers, artists and entertainers of the African Diaspora. The program like Gil, was one of a kind and to date, is one of the greatest american historical archives on film.

Mr. Gil Noble was also community leader, educator and the most incredible spirit of our lifetime. We were glad to have known him, may he rest in peace and his important work always continue. Listen to him below in his own words on his long running program, media images and information, the civil rights movement, living in harlem, his parents, racism and defining leadership.

Send us your thoughts on Brother Gil; comments, pictures or anything we can remember him by.

Special thanks to the Visionary Project
