ABLETON ADVANCED USERS MEETUP
Hosted by Hank Shocklee & Brian Jackson

Presentations by:

Adriano Clemente and Josh Bess
Ableton Open Session

Ableton Certified Trainers Adriano Clemente and Josh Bess will discuss and demonstrate how to sync up Live on multiple laptops via WIFI. This setup is a powerful tool for live performances and studio sessions, with multiple musicians who wish to work together, interchanging roles and ideas within a single Ableton Live Set from separate computers.

Adriano and Josh will demonstrate this setup with various controllers as well, such as the Novation Launchpad, Korg Nano Kontrol, Korg KP3, and more.

Juan Larios
AKA Barber Sonora

Juan will perform a short piece of his audiovisual set using Live which is linked to Resolume Avenue, the VJ software that controls his visuals. Juan will explain how he uses the two softwares in a live application and what his workflow is like.

A native of Mexico City, Larios got some time off from the advertising world to make some music, art projects and have some time for himself in New York. There he started thinking about the Barber Sonora, project that includes sounds of old Mexican tropical bands, Latin music, house, electro and dance stuff.

Andrew Eisele
AKA Morphous

Andrew will be discussing his approach to performing with Live and how he incorporates his Doepfer modular synthesizer as a performance instrument.

Andrew has been working in music production education since 2003. He recently authored three books on Reason 6 and has a line of training DVD’s covering most major DAW applications distributed by the Hal Lenonard Corporation. He is also co-founder of the Tsunami Bass Experience, an art and music collective based in NYC.

Zion
This 15 year old whiz kid representing the People’s Republic of Sound has been using Ableton since grade school. Zion will walk us through how he uses Ableton Live to make his beats and will share his thoughts on what the workflow process is like for a young up & coming producer such as him.

In addition to our guests, also presenting will be:

Hank Shocklee
President of Shocklee Entertainment and sonic architect; music producer, sound designer and composer Hank will make a presentation on demystifying the art of BASS…exploring the creative uses of effects to make your bass shake and thump using Live’s internal sounds and effects.

Brian Jackson
Co-Founder and Director Of Education at Devotion Gallery and one of the world’s first Ableton Certified Trainers, Brian will be presenting some creative uses of Live’s built-in Delay Devices, including ways to emulate vintage analog delay effects.
