Did You See The Moon This Past Weekend?

This past Saturday March 19, 2011 we had a supermoon also known as a super perigee full moon. During this time the moon is within it’s closest orbit to earth. If you looked, you may have noticed it appeared bigger and brighter that’s because this supermoon appeared 14% larger and 30% brighter than other full moons.

The last supermoon we had before this one was on March 8th, 1993 and the next one won’t be until 2029!

In case you missed it, our friend here recorded it with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and a Minolta RF 800mm 1:8 lens with a RMC Tokina Doubler [1800mm].
