The Future of DJ’ing: Emulator Multitouch DJ Software

The Emulator by Smithson Martin is a dedicated multitouch midi controller software for DJ’s.

The system was created by two DJ’s, Argentinian based Pablo Martin and Alan Smithson from Canada. It’s currently designed for use with Windows 7 and their native Multi-Touch configuration. A version of Emulator for Mac OSX, is planned for mid-2011. Emulator currently works for Traktor Pro only but versions for Ableton, Serato, Virtual DJ are in development.

Along with the announcement today from Apple today about the release of their new line of Macbook Pros came the news of the new Thunderbolt I/O input/output technology designed by Intel that lets you connect high performance peripherals and high res displays.

Now you’ll be able to send data at a rate of 10 gigs a second and bi-directionally receive and transmit. This will now give you more flexibility to do great time saving things like edit HD video in real time and will make audio creators seek out more high performance gear and applications. Hopefully, we’ll now be dealing with a lot less latency issues and be able to create media faster and in more mobile environments.
