It explains why the local community has gotten together to protect the shoreline from the hazardous dumping of toxic and nuclear waste by foreign vessels which has been going on since at least 1991. The evidence of this appeared on the beaches in 2004 when many containers filled with toxic waste were washed up by the waves.
