If a comet hurls through space and nobody’s there to hear it, does it make a sound?
See the invisible and take a look at what sound waves look like thanks to a cool high-speed photographic technique called Schlieren Flow visualization which shows the change in air density as sound waves travel through the air. The technique was developed by German physicist August Toepler between 1859 and 1864.
